Art History & Appreciation

Learning to See — Beauty, Truth, and the Human Condition

An 8-week course across art history from the first cave painters to the contemporary gallery — beauty as a divine attribute and the loss of transcendence. Parallel structure with Music History (Bezalel Thread ↔ Listening Thread). Jubal and Bezalel in Week 1; Gothic cathedrals and polyphony in Week 3; peak sacred art and sacred music in Week 4.

Production Status

The course treats art as theology and craft — not decoration. Students learn to see structure, intention, and the moral weight of beauty (or its absence). All body images pulled from public domain sources (be wary of copyright; documented in .source.txt). AI used exclusively for covers per course design.
